Reading Qiao Yan's blog totally reminded me of something.

Much to Joanne's chagrin, the only thing I've been able to remember from the Paper 5 lecture notes is:

"To dash ... [is] used as a euphemism for 'damn', or as a kind of verbal imprecation".

Just one stanza from 520, to illustrate my point.

From:
I started Early - Took my Dog -
And visited the Sea -
The Mermaids in the Basement
Came out to look at me -

To:
I started Early (damn!) Took my Dog (damn!)
And visited the Sea (damn!)
The Mermaids in the Basement
Came out to look at me (damn!)

Well, certainly the grammatical structure is a bit odd now (shouldn't the first two lines go like "I started damn early, took my damn dog and visited the damn sea?)
But LOL I'M SORRY JOANNE (if you read this.)
Naturally the dash has a multitude of other uses, but this is the one I remember the most. xD

Zi Yan's potato story far pwns my ~damn dog at the damn sea~ story though. Go read go read! Qiao Yan's blog at the side~~

If you were coming in the Fall,
I'd brush the Summer by
With half a smile, and half a spurn,
As Housewives do, a Fly.

Not in the fall, not in the summer.

Into the valley of death rode the six hundred (or so people who have either called to look for my Dad or called my mobile to look for my Mum).

Maybe I should make my voice chipmunky over the phone in future.
So that I won't get things like:

"Is this Mrs Lee I'm speaking to?"

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAT!?"

"A-Are you Mrs Lee?"

"... No."

-_-

One of the things I miss most about S77 is talking to them.
Caleb drops a bombshell like it's nothing, but the name means EVERYTHING.
OK so I think my reaction was the funniest.

If you don't know him, you will soon.
In the meantime...

Belated Happy New Year ^_^

Life is boring as usual.
I found it amusing when my mother preferred to watch the MBC Gayo Daejun programme with me rather than the countdown shows that were showing on local TV.
Even she thinks their Sorry Sorry attempt (note, attempt, not performance) was screwed. ^o^
So yeah, I spent the last few moments of 2009 and the first few moments of 2010 watching the Brown Eyed Girls performing while on the TV programme outside, Gurmit Singh was roaring his lungs out or something. I don't even know. xD

LOL I want lollipops :)
I'm hungry and Mum's cooking chicken rice later.
That's always good news :D

*glances back to homework*
Um. I'll be going now :(

DUDE THIS BLOG IS SO BORING I CAN'T STAND IT :/
*shuffles away*
